December 2004 Newsletter Of The Wings Of Love Ministry - Page 2

All of this travel has of course caused us to incur a number of assorted maintenance costs, including the purchase of (believe it or not) 17 tires so far this year!  So far this year we have replaced the turbo charger, transfer case, both batteries and done 3 oil changes in addition to the tires, so you can imagine that our ministry maintenance costs are quite significant.

Another recent activity is that we have been able to provide several cargo deliveries to the All Nations ministry who serve the Triques Indians in Northern Mexico. In our trips to their compound in Miguel Aleman, Sonora, Mexico we have been able to bring considerable amounts of food, medicine, clothing and various other items to be used both by the missionaries and to be given to the Trique Indian people in their times of need, which are often. The Trique manage to eke out a living by occasional farm labor, but in the off season they are nearly in famine conditions since no other work is available.

We have also been busy developing a database which will be necessary for us to do proper tracking of inventory, including spares for the aircraft and donated and transported goods, as well as donors, suppliers and other contacts. This will allow us to provide our donors with accurate and timely donation statements at years end.

What’s  Happening Now   We are currently preparing to support the Friend Ships ministry (see www.friendships.org) by personally participating in a trip to the very distressed nation of Haiti which will be taking place in January and February of 2005.

Also note the new mailing address at the bottom of this newsletter, indicating that we are (even as this is being written) preparing to move into our new home which will include space to park some of our trailers, as well as guest quarters for visiting workers.  Note that if you feel this implies an invitation for all reading this to consider visiting our Ministry to help us in any of our projects, you would be right!

We are also currently in the final stages of preparing our new Kitchen for operations, which we hope to complete by Christmas.

What’s Coming Up   Upon our return from Haiti in February of 2005 we intend to begin to focus on our major goal of 2005 which is (God willing) to have at least one aircraft ready to deploy to anywhere in the US, Caribbean or Central America by the 2005 Storm Season.  This will require raising considerable funding towords insurance and acquiring at least one spare engine, so please be in prayer for our efforts in this regard, as well as any  way you in which may be being called to participate with us.
